Dr. Paul Morton Joins OnPoint Urgent Care Executive Staff After a Successful Air Force Career

Dr. Paul Morton will join OnPoint Urgent Care filling the roles of Attending Physician and Chief Operating Officer on a full-time basis in October 2011. Dr. Morton’s Air Force career began in 1991, when he enrolled at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. After graduating from the Academy in 1995, he went on to Dartmouth Medical School and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency in 2002 in Portland, Maine. He has worked as an Emergency Physician and Flight Surgeon in the Air Force while deploying 3 times (twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan) where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal on each tour of duty. Dr. Morton also served as the Medical Director for the US Air Force Academy Emergency Department and as the Chief of Aerospace Medicine for Buckley AFB in Denver, CO.
Dr. Morton is a Founding Member of OnPoint Urgent Care Centers along with Dr. Jeff Bushnell. Drs. Morton and Bushnell met and worked together in the Emergency Department at the US Air Force Academy from 2005-2009. Their entrepreneurial vision was to operate walk-in medical centers from the Emergency Physician’s point of view and do it in a supportive, patient-focused environment. Their successful first venture is located just off E-470 at Smoky Hill Road in S. Aurora across from the Southlands Shopping Center. Construction has begun on their second location in Highlands Ranch with an expected opening date of December 2011.
Lieutenant Colonel Morton is taking some time off to get married to his fiancé, Rebekah, in Italy and to travel there with friends and family before coming back to the practice. He will also continue his military service in the Colorado Air National Guard and as their Chief of Aerospace Medicine.
